Fire & Rescue Registration

Fire & Rescue

A fire and rescue license, also known as a fire safety certificate, is a legal document issued by the local fire department or the appropriate regulatory authority. It serves as proof that a building, establishment, or facility has successfully met the required fire safety standards and complies with the established fire safety regulations. The purpose of a fire and rescue license is to ensure the safety of occupants in case of a fire. It also aims to protect neighboring structures and the surrounding community from potential fire hazards. By obtaining this license, building owners and operators demonstrate their commitment to fire safety and their compliance with the established regulations.
The Fire and Rescue Services Department (FRSD) of the Tamil Nadu government oversees the issuance of Fire and Rescue Licenses in the state. The FSRD is responsible for ensuring fire safety compliance in buildings and establishments across Tamil Nadu

Building Classification: The property must fall under one of the categories specified by the FSRD, such as residential, commercial, industrial, or institutional.

Structural Integrity: The building must meet the minimum structural requirements for fire safety, as outlined by the FSRD's building codes.

Fire Safety Equipment: The building must be equipped with the necessary fire safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, fire alarms, and emergency lighting systems.

Fire Safety Plan: The applicant must prepare a Comprehensive Fire Safety Plan (CFSP) that outlines the building's fire safety measures and emergency response procedures.

Documents Required:

  1. Application with the signature of the authorized signatory
  2. Appendix 1 & 2 duly filled in by the applicant
  3. Copy of the NOC issued by the Fire and Rescue Services Department for getting Planning Permission.
  4. Details of Fire Safety measures undertaken in the building
  5. Fire Safety Plan of the building including Fire Alarm Plan and Hydrant Layout etc.
